Alicia "Rosie" Rose Wins Shining Star Award at National Conference

Wednesday, November 7th, 2018

The Emerging Multicultural Leadership Experience (EMLE) is a dynamic learning and professional development conference that celebrates and supports the Y’s next generation of multicultural leaders.

During this year's event in Seattle, one of our very own emerging leaders, Alicia "Rosie" Rose, won the conference's Shining Star Award. Given to someone who does not go unnoticed, Rosie went above and beyond to model congeniality, openness, and enthusiasm.

EMLE 2018 was a dynamic, three-day learning experience designed to help emerging multicultural staff deepen their connection with the Movement, discover their potential as cause-driven leaders and grow their careers in the Y.

This year's event featured multicultural performances, dynamic EMLE Talk and Keynote speakers,  networking, career planning, skill development and more! EMLE attendees worked on developing the competencies and resources to prepare them to step into senior leadership positions and use their unique voice and perspective to guide our future YMCAs.
