Code of Conduct

At Old Colony Y, we are committed to creating an environment where everyone feels respected, safe, comfortable, and included. While using our facilities or participating in our programs, all individuals are expected to honor our core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility. In that spirit, we expect everyone to respect the rights and dignity of all members and YMCA staff while participating in person or online.

If you feel anyone is violating our Member Code of Conduct, please don’t hesitate to
notify a Y staff person. This list outlines the standards to which we hold all visitors to the Y.

OLD COLONY Y…

  • Is a smoke free, drug free, and alcoholic free environment
  • Is a weapon-free environment
  • Does not tolerate harassment, abuse, or intimidation by words, gestures, body language, or any type of menacing behavior
  • Does not tolerate physical contact with another person in an angry, aggressive, or threatening way
  • Does not tolerate sexually explicit conversation or behavior, or any sexual contact with another person
  • Does not tolerate theft or behavior that results in the destruction or loss of property
  • Does not tolerate the taking of photos and videos of another person without their consent

Old Colony Y’s first priority is the safety of our members and guests – especially children. The YMCA conducts regular sex offender screenings on all members, participants, and guests. If a sex offender match occurs, the YMCA reserves the right to cancel membership, end program participation, and remove visitation access.

Thank you in advance for doing your part to create a caring, compassionate space for all.
