Y-Ability Programs

This program is the original research based, unique fitness/wellness program that captures the essence of movement and rhythm and combines it with fun! Drums Alive is full of powerful and motivating music and drumming rhythms that get feet stomping and bodies moving. The original whole brain and whole body program allows ALL individuals to participate without ever having picked up drumsticks before!

This program introduces teens to the safe and proper use of the fitness center. This class will be full of educational pieces for the teens to take back and apply either at home or in our fitness center. The instructor will introduce different exercises and how to apply them correctly. Another focus of this class will be going over healthy items to eat!

Swim-Ability participants work towards goals set by the participants along with family members and caregivers. With the goals and capabilities of each individual participant in mind, staff works through an assessment process and develops a program plan. Family members/caregivers are encouraged to take part alongside the participant if they so desire. There is a maximum of 6 participants in the pool during a session. The YMCA can provide 1:1 staff support and have additional support staff on the pool deck based upon participant need and ability.
