Christina was the true embodiment of the Y’s four core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility. Her spirit and legacy will continue to guide our mission. CHRISTINA MARIE MIHOS (1975 – 1992)Christina is described as a “little angel with a personality to match.” Her life was tragically cut short because of an inoperable brain tumor. Christina was an exceptional student despite undergoing nine surgeries and undergoing chemotherapy. In honor of Christina, her family and friends established the Christina Marie Mihos Youth Foundation with a mission to support the youth in the areas of education, medical research and quality of life. As a leading nonprofit for youth development, healthy living and social responsibility, the Y promises to work tirelessly in Christina’s name to nurture children and teens, improve community health and well-being in our neighborhood.
