Reflecting on Pride Month's Impact and Looking Ahead

pride month

As we approach the end of June, we want to take a moment to reflect on the significance of Pride Month and our journey together. At Old Colony YMCA, our unwavering commitment to celebrating and supporting the LGBTQIA+ community goes beyond this month; it's a daily practice deeply rooted in our values.

Pride Month serves as a powerful reminder of the strides we have taken towards equality and acceptance. It is a time to acknowledge the achievements of the LGBTQIA+ community and to honor those who have paved the way for change. We celebrate the bravery and resilience of individuals who have stood up for their rights, who have spoken their truths, and who have embraced their authentic selves despite the challenges they may face.

To conclude this month-long celebration, our commitment to advocating for equality and acceptance remains steadfast. We recognize that there is still work to be done, and we are dedicated to continuing this journey together.

The town of Plymouth is hosting a Pride Festival this Sunday, June 25, 2023 from 11am-5pm at the Nelson Memorial Park featured with great music, entertainment, delicious food, and so much more!

We invite everyone to participate and show support, standing together in solidarity.
