Old Colony YMCA Unveils a $1.3 Million Building Renovation at the Taunton YMCA

Taunton YMCA Ribbon Cutting

Taunton, MA - Old Colony YMCA is excited to announce the completion and ribbon cutting ceremony of the highly anticipated $1.3 million capital renovation project at the Taunton YMCA. This significant investment reflects Old Colony Y’s unwavering commitment to providing the highest quality of care, while creating an inclusive and engaging environment for children and families.

The newly redesigned lobby at the Taunton Y now features a state-of-the-art indoor play space, along with additional childcare classrooms integrated within the facility. This redesign aligns with the Old Colony YMCA's mission to meet the evolving needs of the local community. By incorporating these enhancements, the Taunton Y is now better equipped to accommodate the growing demand for high-quality childcare services and serve a larger number of children.

The ribbon cutting ceremony took place on Thursday, July 13th, 2023, and was attended by distinguished guests, including Taunton Mayor Shaunna O'Connell, who commended the Y for its dedication to the well-being of the community.

"We owe the success of this remarkable project to our incredible members, board of governors, volunteers, donors, and staff who played a pivotal role in bringing this vision to life," said Sean Morrissey, Executive Director of the Taunton YMCA.

Old Colony YMCA extends its gratitude to Bristol County Savings Bank, Amelia Peabody Charitable Fund, Plumber's Supply, and a generous anonymous donor for their exceptional devotion to the YMCA's mission.
