Child Care

The Old Colony YMCA is the largest provider of child care services in Southeastern Massachusetts.  The Plymouth Child Care Program provides a family-centered, values-based program to nurture children's healthy development. Well-trained staff provides safe, affordable, high-quality care so you can have peace of mind while you work. Like all Y programs, child care is open to all, with financial aid available. Staff members are partners with parents and other caregivers, working together to help kids grow up healthy, happy and strong.

When parents drop off their children at a YMCA, they're entrusting that Y with their greatest treasures. We take that responsibility very seriously. We encourage parents' visits at any time and solicit their input and full involvement in ensuring the safety of all children in our child care programs.

Come see our program in action! Prospective parent visits are encouraged. To schedule a visit or to obtain more information, please contact Melissa Beresford at 508.927.3100 or mberesford@oldcolonyymca.org.

Certified teachers will lead your child through a variety of activities such as music, arts and crafts, educational basics, gym activities, and outdoor recreation. Each child has the opportunity to grow at his/her own pace while having fun and making new friends. The staff to child ratio is 1:10.

School Age Programs

Kids do better when they have access to multiple opportunities and resources. At the Y, we use our integrated approach to youth development to ensure children and families have everything they need to succeed.

We believe that each child is special, with his or her own unique personality, talents, and skills. We use a developmentally-appropriate approach geared towards each child’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth. Our goal is to build upon each child’s unique abilities, helping him or her to blossom into the young person (s)he was intended to become.
