School Care

Before School, After School, Early Release, & School Vacations/Summer Club

Kids do better when they have access to multiple opportunities and resources. At the Y, we use our integrated approach to youth development to ensure children and families have everything they need to succeed. Here, you're not just getting school age care, you're getting the YMCA. We offer safe, engaging, fun and supportive school age care that helps kids, learn, grow, and thrive!

Old Colony YMCA school age programming is licensed by the MA Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) and is for ages 5-14/Grades K-8.

Parents can expect the following:

  • Old Colony YMCA's integrated approach that supports healthy, safe, engaged, children and families
  • Families receive access to resources and services to help children and families succeed in life, school, and at times of crisis
  • Program activities such as swimming, gymnastics, gym, outdoor gardening, walking trails, outdoor games, and more
  • S.T.E.A.M. (Science Technology, Engineering, Art, Math) activities
  • Homework support
  • Low staff to child ratios
  • The highest standard of safety
  • Daily schedule with full curriculum

Please note, FINANCIAL AID is available for families to participate in the before and after school program. All children are welcome at the Y regardless of ability to pay.


Before School Care

Activities include breakfast and a variety of games and activities. Available for Grades K-5 Fee:


After School Care

A healthy snack is provided and a variety of activities that include: Y Chat time, crafts, science, games, indoor/outdoor play and FUN! Available for Grades K-8

Early Release Care

On early release days, the program operates at the Middleboro Branch from early dismissal until 6pm with special activities planned. There is no additional fee if the day falls on a normally scheduled day.

School Vacation/ Summer Fun Club

During school vacations and in the summer the Y provides a full day program offering theme-based activities and trips.Parents provide lunch and drink. (Breakfast & an afternoon snack is included).

A separate registration form is required.


Child Care & Early Education

Offering Infant, Toddler, Preschool and Pre-Kindergarten Programs

The Early Learning Center 508-947-1076 (NAEYC Accredited) Open Year Round

We offer Infant, Toddler, Preschool and Pre-Kindergarten Child Care Programs year round, with a two day minimum per week. Children attending Preschool and Pre-Kindergarten at the Early Learning Center can attend swim lessons or gymnastics for an additional fee. Also, as a benefit, families enrolled in Child care & Early Education programing at Old Colony YMCA receive a 20% discount on a family membership.

Our state approved curriculum reflects the YMCA's core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility, as well as our commitment to building strong kids, strong families, and strong communities. Programs are staffed with caring individuals who believe each child is special with his/her own personality and talents, is CPR/ First Aid certified, and has passed extensive background checks.The Early Learning Center is licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care. Please call 508-947-1076 or email Tracey Pomerleau for more information.


Baby Bears/Little Lions

(6 Weeks–2.9 Years)
This program offers an EEC curriculum and provides safe, quality care for your infant/toddler while simultaneously allowing them to enjoy structured learning, play time, snacks and outdoor time.


Tiny Turtles/Buzzing Bees

(Ages 2.9–4 Years)
This program offers an EEC curriculum based on the EEC /NAEYC standards as well as our YMCA core values.


Leaping Frogs

This program offers an EEC curriculum based on the EEC /NAEYC standards as well as our YMCA core values. Your child will be evaluated and assisted with their developmental needs for Kindergarten.
