Leave A Legacy - Preserve The Heritage
Old Colony YMCA Heritage Club is comprised of those who strongly believe in the mission of the YMCA and want to create a legacy through a direct or planned gift to the Endowment Fund. Gifts to this fund are critical to the Y’s work and have a lasting impact on the children and families in our communities. Gifts to the endowment fund can be made on behalf of the Old Colony Y, one or more branches, or to support a specific program.
Planned giving opportunities to qualify for Heritage Club membership include:
Make an immediate donation to the endowment fund and take a charitable deduction as provided by law.
Bequest in Will
Include the Old Colony YMCA in a will and reduce estate taxes. Fixed amounts, specific assets or percentages of the estate may be specified. Another option is to name the Old Colony YMCA as a recipient of the remainder of an estate after all other expenses and specified contributions.
Contribute appreciated assets, such as stock, real estate or personal property to the Old Colony YMCA and receive a charitable deduction equal to the current value of the assets without capital gains tax.
Purchase a life insurance policy naming the Old Colony YMCA as the beneficiary, and take a charitable deduction equal to the premium amount.
Establish a charitable trust and/or annuities that provides a fixed or variable lifetime income and receive a charitable deduction at the same time.
Donate a home or real estate to the Old Colony YMCA, enjoy the benefits of ownership for life and recognize a charitable deduction immediately.
Name the Old Colony YMCA as a full or partial beneficiary of your IRA or qualified retirement plan to avoid potentially both income and estate taxes on these gifts.
