Boys Detention Program

The Boys Detention Program is a 15 bed residential facility serving adolescent males between the ages of 11 and 18 that have been detained by the Juvenile Court and are awaiting their next scheduled court date.

The Boys Detention Program contracts with the Department of Youth Services to provide twenty four hour services to the youth in custody. The residents take part in a full educational program daily during the week. The Boys Detention Program is able to include a fully functional computer lab, art room, and access to the gymnasium and fitness related classes as part of the educational program. Residents also have access to health and clinical services. Each youth is assigned a clinician that they meet with on a weekly basis. Clinical groups are also provided covering topics of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to promote positive coping and Substance Abuse Prevention.

The Boys Detention Program promotes an asset-based model of services to encourage residents to bond with staff and maximize program safety.  Our staff engages the residents in activities which promote self-worth and positive growth and allow the program to utilize an effective behavior management model. A 4-tiered level system is part of this model, which encourages these young men to develop a sense of responsibility and respect for their peers and surroundings. The goal is to promote positive development in each young man through skills and tools that they can utilize long after they leave The Boys Detention Program.
