Kidz Konnect

Kidz Konnect is Violence Prevention Initiative program for youth ages 6 - 14. This program is funded by the Department of Public Health. This program provides services through collaboration with several community partners, including: Old Colony YMCA Big Sister Big Brother Program, Old Colony YMCA Youth Branch, Brockton Boys and Girls Club, and Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (MSPCC). Other collaborators include: Harbor One Bank, The Community Bank, North Easton Savings Bank, and Randolph Savings Bank.

Kidz Konnect is a free program!   The services provided include groups and activities for youth and events for the entire family.  Some groups and activities for girls will address subjects such as:  Empowerment, Self-Esteem, Healthy Relationships, Body Image, and Bullying.  Activities and groups for boys will focus on topics that include: Respect, Understanding, Listening and Expressing Feelings.  Family Events will involve joint parent and child activities such as swimming, arts & crafts, games and other events. Other services will include: Parent education groups geared to looking at the impact of domestic violence and the prevention of violence among youth. In addition, there are financial literacy groups for youth and their parents.

To access the services mentioned above you will need a Kidz Konnect card. These cards are issued though the Old Colony YMCA Youth Branch Child Care, Old Colony YMCA Big Sister Big Brother Program, the Brockton Boys & Girls Club, the Cape Verdean Association, the Family Life Center, the David Jon Louison Center, and the Old Colony YMCA Youth Focus program sites which include: Crescent Court apartments, Golden Circle apartments, Hillside Village apartments and Roosevelt Heights apartments.
Pre-enrollment is needed for some activities and groups.  The activities and groups will be held at the locations listed above.

A monthly Kidz Konnect Calendar of activities will posted at each of the locations mentioned. Copies of the calendar can be obtained from the Boys & Girls Club, the Old Colony Y Youth Division and at the agencies mentioned above.
