Community Based

Volunteers

Community Based Mentoring:
Volunteers ages 19 and older are matched with youth 6-14 years old in their community and spend 2-4 hours a week with each other for a minimum of 1 year.  Matches go to the park, bowling, sporting events and sometimes just hang in and make dinner together.

School & Site Based Mentoring:
Volunteers ages 16 and older are matched with youth in 3rd through 8th grade for 1 hour a week each week for the academic year.  Matches go to the school or afterschool program their little is in usually from 4-5pm and play sports, games, arts & crafts with their Littles on site.

A Big Brother or Big Sister can open a world of possibilities and opportunities for a young person simply by being a genuine friend.  You can make a difference!  Call us for more information at (508) 587-4242, e-mail us at bsbb@oldcolonyymca.org, or sign up below for more information.
