Help make a difference in a child's life!
It is our policy to make our programs affordable and accessible to all. We never turn anyone away from the Y due to the inability to pay fees. We are able to do this because of the generosity of others. Strong Kids Campaign donations directly help provide financial assistance for thousands of children and families for Y memberships, child care, camp, recreation programs, teen programs, and special needs programs.
The Strong Kids Campaign supports programs with a purpose. Using values-based programming, the YMCA gives children the skills they need to grow into healthy, responsible adults - making our communities a better place to live.
The Strong Kids Campaign also supports new programs - such as Youth Focus. Youth Focus is an on-site after school program in four Brockton Housing Authority Developments. Youth Focus works inside these neighborhoods helping children make smart, safe and healthy choices by introducing positive ways to spend their leisure time.
About the Old Colony YMCA
The Old Colony YMCA is a non-profit, charitable association established in 1887. We distinguish ourselves from other organizations by providing values based programs that strengthen the spirit, mind and body for everyone in the 31 Southeastern Massachusetts communities we serve. Currently, 103,000 individuals in our service area use our facilities annually. We are the largest child care provider in the region, with more than forty sites from which we serve more than 2,000 children daily.
Our Mission
The Old Colony YMCA is a charitable, non-profit Association committed to the development of strong spirit, mind, and
body, guided by Judeo-Christian principles, to enrich the quality of life for everyone in our communities.
Our Core Values
As our traditional social values continue to be challenged and refined over time, the Old Colony YMCA is proud to remain steadfast in its support of the values of CARING, HONESTY, RESPONSIBILITY, and RESPECT. We will continue to teach these values and demonstrate them in word and deed.
Our Beliefs
We believe that our Mission is to assist all people to develop to their fullest potential, and to respond to ever-changing community needs in the areas of youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.
A Tradition of Volunteers
Volunteers have always played a critical role at the Old Colony Y. We couldn't accomplish all that we do without the commitment of our dedicated volunteers. There are many volunteer opportunities available in areas such as Youth Sports, Aquatics, Special Events, and Camp, plus we rely on volunteers from the communities we serve to help us raise the dollars needed to keep our programs affordable and accessible to all. If you would like to volunteer to help raise money for the children and families in your community, please call 508-583-2155!
